TSC Extends Mobile Thermal Printer Range

TSC Auto ID has extended its portfolio of lightweight, mobile thermal printers, consisting of the current 3” and 4” models Alpha-3R and Alpha-4L, by its new, powerful and reliable Alpha-2R. Large paper capacity, high capacity rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries, extensive memory and state-of-the-art interfaces makes the printer of only 350 g weight “a resilient and flexible multi talent”, said the company.

Designed to be user-friendly Alpha-2R is TSC’s smallest and, it says, most affordable mobile receipt printer. Due to its rechargeable 1620mAh Lithium Ion batteries the ENERGY STAR® certified printer features 17 hours of usage on a battery charge with an average of a 2 minute printer interval (BT mode). It offers the largest media capacity in the 2’’ receipt market with a media capacity of 58mm wide and a maximum receipt roll out diameter of 50mm. So, there are many possibilities of using the portable printer in logistics, retail, industry, health care and public sector such as direct store deliveries, field sales and repairs, point of sale, parking citations, mobile and transport ticketing or fleet management.

The printer is WiFi™ certified and equipped with a variety of wired or wireless communication interfaces including USB 2.0, RS-232, Bluetooth 4.0, Bluetooth 4.2 plus Apple MFi, NFC and 802.11 a/b/g/n (support Bluetooth, either one use) to connect to a mobile computer or even a smart phone. The printers Near Field Communication (NFC) makes it simple to connect to an Alpha-2R device directly from a compatible device. With 128 MB FLASH and 64 MB SDRAM the Alpha-2R offers the highest memories in its class. Print resolution is 203 dpi, print speed is up to 4 ips. TSCs state-of-the-art firmware supports ESC-POS & CPCL & ZPL emulations.

The reliable Alpha-2R is designed for a rough life and comes out of the box with an IP42 rating which may be upgraded by adding its IP54-rated protective case to resist dust and water. Fitted with a special clip, it can be worn on a belt.
