3PL RIF Logistics Links With Supply Chain Technology Provider
12th January 2018
Bedfordshire-based RIF Logistics has outlined ambitious growth plans with the announcement of a new partnership with supply chain technology specialist, Access Group.
The 3PL provider, which is part of the global RIF Worldwide network, currently operates from a single-site warehouse in Dunstable. With plans to increase the number of locations, it was felt that a new software provider was needed to facilitate this rapid growth.
The team selected Access Group’s Access Delta WMS as a scalable solution to grow in line with the company, with the solution fully-functional just seven weeks after the initial order.
Commenting on the new partnership, Dominic Bacon, managing director of RIF Logistics, said:
“For any business to grow, they need the right systems and the right partners. It was clear from the initial discussions that Access Delta WMS is the best system for the 3PL sector.
“We also need to accommodate market changes. There’s a definite change to e-commerce fulfilment and we need to be certain that we have the software in place to facilitate this transition and allow us to achieve a larger market share.
“The functionality and experience that Access Delta WMS has makes the team the ideal service provider as we expand our business.”
Access Delta WMS is designed to improve the capacity and accuracy of warehouse operations. Based on a familiar Microsoft Windows environment, it has a number of key features, including track and trace, intelligent order picking and a real-time warehouse performance dashboard. For RIF Logistics, there was also the added benefit of automated courier integration into parcel couriers such as TNT, DPD and Parcel Force.
For Zaeem Batavia, warehouse management system (WMS) specialist at Access Group, the requirements of RIF Logistics reflect the wider industry:
“The challenge for anyone in the logistics sector at the moment is to balance the streamlining of warehousing, production, planning and finances, whilst also achieving growth. This is a particularly tricky task for 3PLs as the sector is highly competitive.”
Access Group supports over 12,000 customers, across 11 different divisions. The company employs more than 1,400 people, who work from eight different locations throughout the UK.
