Australian Pharmacy Retailer Deploys Inventory Forecasting Solution
29th October 2018
Chemist Warehouse Group, Australia’s largest pharmacy retailer, is deploying the Manhattan Active Inventory solution to address its inventory forecasting and replenishment needs and help drive overall business growth. This new deployment builds on the Chemist Warehouse Group’s success optimising its warehouse management and distribution operations with Manhattan’s SCALE™ solution.
With just under 500 stores in Australia and four stores in New Zealand, the Chemist Warehouse Group has a greater than 50 percent share of Australia’s retail pharmacy market. The brand operates eight distribution centres, serving all of its domestic retail locations, its online properties and a thriving export business. The company is dedicated to providing customers with the highest level of product choice and availability, which is reflected in its strict “no gap” policy, meaning store shelves must remain full at all times.
Manhattan’s Active Inventory solution helps My Chemist meet its “no gap” policy by providing increased visibility into network demand to help respond to shifting requirements and better predict future inventory needs. The product’s omnichannel inventory optimisation capabilities will also enable the Chemist Warehouse Group to reduce store inventory levels from 40 days of supply down to 30 days, without increasing the risk of product gaps on the shelves. The solution’s robust features and flexible configuration will allow the retailer to more effectively manage inventory levels across its store network, as well as accommodate future growth.
“The Chemist Warehouse Group prides itself on our ability to ensure that customers always have access to the products they need, when and where they need them,” said Joanne Lipsey, General Manager, Supply Chain, Chemist Warehouse Group. “Working with Manhattan Associates will give us the inventory insight and control needed to deliver a better experience for our customers. By automating key inventory processes, the solution will also free up internal resources and allow our team to focus on more strategic initiatives to further drive growth and company success.”
“We are proud to work with the Chemist Warehouse Group to help them achieve the correct inventory balance to ensure product availability, prevent inventory surplus and drive profitability,” said Raghav Sibal, Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Manhattan Associates. “Manhattan Associates delivers the advanced demand forecasting and inventory visibility our clients need to maintain control over their inventory assets and drive the most value network-wide.”
