Abbey Logistics joins Pallet-Track distribution network
21st April 2015
Liverpool-based Abbey Logistics, a specialist in green supply chain solutions, is the latest member to join the expanding Pallet-Track distribution network.
Operating over 300 trucks and 400 trailers and offering low carbon impact solutions across its bulk liquids, powder and palletised freight services, Abbey aims to provide a more an environmentally-friendly alternative to its customers.
Working with Pallet-Track to service the WA postcode, Abbey Logistics, one of only three companies to win Motor Transports Haulier of the Year award twice, will handle all consignments in this area – delivering outgoing pallets to Pallet-Tracks Wolverhampton distribution hub where incoming loads will also be collected.
Steve Granite, managing director at Abbey Logistics said: We wanted a network that shared our passion for high standards and efficiency and believe weve found that with Pallet-Track.
Abbey Logistics has ambitions to become a complete logistics provider and this partnership, along with our warehouse facilities on the Wirral and in Knowsley, brings us a step closer to offering a complete solution.
Our general haulage business is growing to become one of the strongest in the north-west. The move into a nationwide pallet distribution network was the next logical step for it because it will complement our warehouse facilities in the area. We chose Pallet-Track because of the systems it operates and the fact that, like Abbey, it has a forward-thinking culture. Abbey can now offer everything from a quarter pallet to over-sized pallet distribution, which strengthens our offering.
Nigel Parkes, founder and managing director of the 90+-member Pallet-Track network, added: Abbey Logistics has a fantastic reputation for green solutions within the industry and were only too happy to be taking the organisation on board as a member.
Each time we take on a new member, we are able to increase the amount of shipments taking place within the postcode, which will enable us to continue to grow throughout 2015.
Abbey Logistics is the sixth member to join the network in as many months, following a successful period of growth for the organisation, which also opened its Scottish and Southern hubs in 2014.
