Pallet-Track’s 10th anniversary year continues to deliver the goods in terms of plaudits after the company scooped the Best Practice Freight Transport prize at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport CILTUK Awards for Excellence 2014.

Senior management of the Wolverhampton-based business were among 500+ of the UK’s leading professionals in transport, the supply chain and planning who gathered at the Lancaster Hotel in London for the sector’s showcase event designed to promote best practice within the logistics and transport industries.

A total of 15 awards were presented at the glittering event presided over by CILT President Jim Spittle and hosted by TV sports presenter and former Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris Hollins, who presented Pallet-Track’s operations director Lisa Burrows with the award in recognition of the company’s sustainable growth plan and staff engagement.

The citation on the award read: “After a relatively late entry to the new but still young market sector, Pallet-Track has demonstrated a structured and systematic approach to implementing many elements of best practice in freight transport. This has enabled the company to build a sustainable growth plan with clearly increasing financial performance, strong customer service measures and high levels of member company loyalty.”

Lisa Burrows said this week: “This is a great award and recognition of a lot of hard work by the team who has been managing customer expectations at a time of sustained and unprecedented growth in the sector. We entered out 10th year in January managing around 8000 pallets per night, and we approach the end of 2014 having broken through the 10,000 pallets milestone – and we still have never lost a consignment, which is an industry first.

“Hard work is rewarded at our business which is why we have retained such a loyal team, many of whom have been on the Pallet-Track journey for the last 10 years – this award is for them.”

Nigel Parkes, founder and managing director, added: “We are delighted with this industry recognition at a time when we have also just moved into Europe through our tie up with Hellmann Logistics Worldwide. We have come a long way since we managed 800+ pallets on our first night in January 2004. However, as everyone at Pallet-Track knows, we will not be resting on our laurels and will continue to invest in the best and the future of the business.”
