Eurasian Rail Alliance Signs Deals in Austria and Kaliningrad
6th March 2018
The UTLC Eurasian rail alliance has announced new deals in Austria and Kaliningrad.
Owned jointly by rail providers in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, UTLC operates transit container service on the China-Europe-China link, where it says it has more than 48 freight routes.
UTLC has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Rail Cargo Austria AG in the field of container transit.
“This execution of the Memorandum of Understanding between UTLC and Rail Cargo Austria AG continues a chain of the extension of UTLC Family. Railroads are united to create new transport products aimed at the creation of additional comfort, primarily for the cargo owner,” Aleksei Grom, the President of UTLC, commented.
The parties intend to collaborate in the field of the development of rail transit between Europe and China providing a comprehensive transport service of new quality to customers. This agreement is especially relevant within the development of technological, informational and service cooperation and partnership relations between the railroads of Russia and Europe, as well as the development of Eurasian routes in general. To that end, an agreement with the Kaliningrad region has also been signed. Mr Grom said that one of the most important directions in the development of transit services is the implementation of the project of multimodal container transportations through the ports of the Kaliningrad region.
