Palletways Member Invests £1.5 Million in Facilities and Equipment

Lichfield-based logistics firm, Palletways 51, has invested more than £1.5million into its facilities and equipment following a period of significant growth for the business.
Palletways 51, a member of Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network has upgraded its fleet, adding 19 new trucks in the last 12 months alone. The trucks are fitted with the latest technology, which includes 360-degree camera systems and GPS tracking.
To help support this growth, Palletways 51 has also appointed two operations managers and a health and safety officer to the 60-strong workforce. As a company that offers a range of logistics, courier and warehousing services, the role of a health and safety officer is varied, covering forklift truck instructing and examining, driver training and consulting. The addition of two new managers has also significantly strengthened the management tier, providing extra support to staff across the firm’s shifts and projects.
Over the past six months, Palletways 51 has offered customers a new online service, ETA – Estimated Time of Arrival, (as featured in May’s issue of Logistics Business). This technology development is a first for the industry and have given Palletways members the ability to notify their customers of two-hour delivery time slots and consignment contents, significantly enhancing customer service.
