Robust Trailers for Scottish Haulier’s Regular Spain-UK Run
14th May 2018
Southbar Transport has extended its fleet with a pair of Schmitz Cargobull trailers to transport fragile foodstuffs and beverages 1,500 miles between Spain and the UK every week.
The new assets, which will be used as part of a 24/7 operation by the Scottish haulier, are fitted with Schmitz Cargobull’s FERROPLAST® panels which are thinner and tougher than standard panels, so provide increased protection as well as room for bigger payloads.
Each trailer has also been fitted with a galvanised and bolted chassis for maximum durability and a low-noise floor suitable for early morning or late-night deliveries.
Millar Dunlop, Managing Director at Southbar Transport, says: “We transport fragile goods over thousands of miles so it’s essential our trailers are robust enough to prevent any damage to the cargo.
“Our other Schmitz Cargobull trailers have been perfect, so when we needed to increase our fleet, they were the only choice.”
The new trailers will be supported by Schmitz Cargobull’s 24-hour Service Partner Network which comprises more than 1,200 workshops across Europe, each with technicians specially trained in repair and maintenance of the manufacturer’s equipment.
Established in 1991, Southbar Transport is a cargo and freight firm based in the village of Inchinnan near Glasgow. It now has eight Schmitz Cargobull trailers in a 25-strong fleet.
