Logistics Business Person Awards 2027 — Entry Terms
Policy version 2026-10-15. These terms apply prospectively to submissions accepting this version. Keep the confirmation sent to you; it contains your accepted terms and order details.
1. Organiser and contacts
The organiser and contracting party is Logistics Business Publishing Limited, Unit D, Spitfire Close, Ermine Business Park, Huntingdon, PE29 6XY, United Kingdom. General enquiries, complaints, privacy and removal requests: info@logisticsbusiness.com. Cancellations and refunds: kim@logisticsbusiness.com. You may also write to our postal address. These contacts do not restrict any legally valid method of giving notice.
2. Who can enter
Entries are welcome worldwide and must be in English. Purchasers and nominees must be at least 18. Companies may nominate their people; individuals may enter and pay personally. Self-nominations are allowed. If nominating someone else, obtain their informed permission before submitting and give them these terms and our Privacy Policy. You must have authority to act for any company you represent.
A Young Logistician nominee must be aged 18–29 on the date the nomination is submitted, not on the closing date. Each nomination must meet its category's published criteria and describe a specific, truthful, evidence-based achievement during the last 12 months. Supply a 400–700 word statement, role, LinkedIn profile and a photograph you have permission to use. Do not submit confidential information or unnecessary sensitive personal data. We may request proportionate evidence of eligibility or permission and suspend publication while a genuine concern is resolved.
The same person may enter different eligible categories, with a separate fee for each. If staff identify and verify duplicate nominations of the same person in the same category, we will combine them and refund the duplicate fee. This requires review; it is not immediate and names alone do not establish identity. The overall Person of the Year award is not directly enterable: the organiser selects it from eligible recorded winners of other categories.
3. Dates and the service
Nominations close at 31 July 2027, 23:59:59, UK time. Voting opens at 1 August 2027, 00:00 and closes immediately before 1 October 2027, 12:01, UK time. A late submission may be considered exceptionally by contacting us; acceptance is not guaranteed.
The entry service includes administering the nomination, publishing an eligible profile following acceptance, making it available for awards voting and judging, and administering the outcome. Entry does not guarantee votes, finalist status, a prize or an award. Event tickets, travel and accommodation are separate and are not included in the nomination fee. Event arrangements are communicated separately.
4. Fees, invoices and acceptance
The base fee is £295.00 for each nomination. Two or more nominations purchased together in one submission receive 25% off the entire nomination subtotal. Separate orders do not accumulate discounts. Your form shows the subtotal, VAT and total in GBP before you commit. For UK billing addresses, VAT is added at the configured rate shown with your order total before purchase. For overseas billing addresses, no UK VAT is charged under the organiser-confirmed policy. This describes our configured charging policy, not a statement that all overseas or consumer transactions have the same legal tax treatment. Tell us before payment if your billing details or tax treatment need checking; any correction must comply with applicable law.
By submitting an order with an obligation to pay you offer to purchase the service on these terms. A submission acknowledgement or the issue of an invoice is not acceptance. For card entries we accept when successful payment has been verified and the eligible profile is published. Live card profiles publish immediately following verification and the required eligibility and permission declarations, unless a specific concern requires a hold. Unverified, failed and test payments do not publish profiles.
For invoice entries we accept when staff approve the invoice arrangement; eligible live profiles are published at that point, even if payment has not yet arrived. Stripe issues and emails an invoice due no later than 30 days from issue. Invoice creation, sending or payment alone does not replace staff approval. We send a durable acceptance confirmation. If we cannot accept a prepaid entry we will return the payment. An unpaid or overdue approved invoice remains payable; we may suspend the profile and voting eligibility while overdue and review restoration after payment. We will not describe an invoice as paid without verified payment or a clearly identified manual accounting record.
5. Personal cancellation and refunds
Personal entrants may cancel within 14 days after the day their contract is accepted and receive a full refund, including where a profile has already been published. This is our express promise for personal entrants; we make no deduction for work already done during that period. We also accept cancellation before acceptance and return any payment taken. Any longer mandatory cancellation period or other statutory remedy remains available.
We ask separately for your express request to start the service as soon as your entry is accepted, including during the 14-day cancellation period. Early start and immediate publication do not waive this full-refund promise. If you do not want an early start, contact us before submitting to arrange later commencement. A company purchasing in the course of business has no general discretionary change-of-mind refund, but this does not remove any mandatory remedy or refund otherwise promised here.
Send a clear cancellation statement, preferably to kim@logisticsbusiness.com, identifying the order and entrant. You may use the model form below but need not do so. We will make a refund due under the personal 14-day promise without undue delay and within 14 days of receiving the cancellation notice, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise and without a refund fee. If the entire awards competition is cancelled, all entrants, including businesses, receive a full refund of their entry fees.
A request to remove the whole nominee profile withdraws that nomination from the awards. Outside the personal cancellation promise there is no discretionary refund merely for withdrawal, but statutory rights and other refund entitlements remain. Request corrections at info@logisticsbusiness.com; reasonable requests are considered individually rather than offering unrestricted self-editing.
6. Voting and judging
A first preference scores 1 point and an optional different second preference scores 0.5 points. Vote once per person; using multiple browsers/devices or clearing cookies to multiply votes is prohibited. Saving a category counts the choices; you can update them in that browser while voting is open. The finish button adds no extra votes.
Normally the two highest-scoring eligible nominees in each category qualify as finalists. A tie at the qualifying boundary may expand the group to three. If including the tied nominees would produce more than three, judges select among those tied for the remaining places; the maximum is three. There may be fewer finalists where fewer eligible nominees exist. Judges decide award merits and recuse themselves for personal or commercial conflicts. Their merits decisions are final, but this does not exclude complaints about errors, procedure or conflicts, or legal rights.
We consider reports of manipulation or deliberately false entries and may remove manipulated votes or disqualify an entry where justified. We do not promise routine manual scrutiny of every ballot. Actions should be proportionate to the evidence; you may raise a process concern through the complaints contact.
7. Category changes and fair administration
If a category is renamed, replaced or removed, we may transfer an entry to a genuinely relevant or equivalent category and notify the entrant afterwards. We will not move an entry to an unsuitable category merely to avoid addressing the change. Where no suitable category exists, we will contact the entrant individually to discuss resolution. This does not make any legally owed refund optional or limit remedies for material detrimental changes or non-performance.
Changes needed for fair or practical administration will be limited and explained to affected entrants. We will not use this clause to impose an unrestricted change to the service or retrospectively reduce agreed rights. New policy versions apply to new submissions; accepted orders retain their agreed version, subject to any separately agreed lawful variation.
8. Publication and permissions
You confirm that each nominee has authorised this entry and understands publication. You also grant, or have authority to grant, a non-exclusive permission to reproduce the submitted name, photograph and achievement statement on the awards website, awards-related social media, magazine and event materials for this edition and its ongoing archive. Winners may be referenced in the following year's awards promotion. Ownership remains with the rights holder. Reasonable formatting and editing must not misrepresent the achievement. Unrelated campaigns require separate permission.
Nominee authorisation and copyright permission are distinct from the lawful bases for processing personal data. Our Privacy Policy explains those bases and individual rights. Entry does not enrol anyone in marketing. We do not share private entrant or nominee information with sponsors; public profiles can of course be read by sponsors and others. We use necessary service providers, including Stripe and hosting/email providers. Contact us about withdrawal, removal, correction or an objection; published print copies and third-party copies cannot always be recalled, but we will address future use and data rights appropriately.
9. Records, privacy and complaints
Public profiles are reviewed annually and retained while serving a useful awards archive purpose, then removed. Private entry/administration records are normally retained for six years after the edition concludes; payment records for six years from the relevant transaction or accounting record date. Voting records are normally retained for 12 months after the edition concludes. Longer retention is limited to unresolved issues or legal requirements. Reviews and deletion are administered by staff, subject to legal holds; this is not a promise of automatic deletion on a particular day. See the Privacy Policy for details of browser identifiers, technical security information, rights and recipients.
Send complaints to info@logisticsbusiness.com with the relevant facts. No fixed response time is promised here; applicable statutory deadlines continue to apply. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or consumers' statutory service remedies. The law of England and Wales governs, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections or court rights where they live.
