Ewals Cargo Care’s UK & Ireland division has opened its new ‘Trucking Hub’ in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire, UK. As it is close to our offices Logistics Business, couldn’t help but to take a look.
The new facility represents a significant investment in the future of the company’s local trucking operations and further strengthens the ability to provide reliable, scalable, and sustainable transport solutions for the UK to and from locations across Europe. It is a 4-acre site with space for trucks, trailers, and staff vehicles and operated in tandem with smaller satellite sites in both Immingham and Seaham.
The launch marks the culmination of a long-term development project aimed at creating a purpose-built operational centre supporting growing customer demand whilst enhancing service levels across the region. Built around operational excellence, the new trucking hub will serve as the central coordination point for Ewals Cargo Care (ECC)’s fleet activities.
Strengthening Coverage
Strategically located with direct access to the A14 corridor, the new trucking hub provides direct connectivity between southern ports, the Midlands, and Northern England. Combined with ECC’s established operations in Immingham and Seaham, the facility further strengthens Ewals Cargo Care’s nationwide transport network and enhances its ability to provide reliable capacity and flexible logistics solutions for customers.
The new hub has been designed to support both current operations and future expansion. Featuring enhanced security measures, modern office facilities, dedicated driver welfare areas and training facilities, the site provides a safe, efficient, and professional environment for employees, drivers, customers and an outsourced maintenance partner is also stationed at the site.

Driving the Future of Trucking
“The launch of our new UK & Ireland Trucking Hub is an important milestone for Ewals Cargo Care,” Steve Foster, UK Depot Manager, told us. “This facility demonstrates our continuing long-term commitment to the UK market and provides the infrastructure needed to support our customers’ evolving supply chains. By investing in our people, facilities, and operational capabilities, we are strengthening our trucking network and creating a platform for sustainable growth in the years ahead.
We have been established in the area for over 20 years. Previously administration and vehicle accommodation were in separate locations. This facility is culmination of a search over many years for the perfect long-term facility in this area, especially important given recent ECC growth in the UK. It is perfectly placed for easy access on and off the nearby A14/A1, taking our vehicles where they need to go across the UK.
The new hub further reinforces ECC’s commitment to delivering innovative logistics solutions that connect people, move goods efficiently, and create value for customers across the UK, Ireland, and Europe. The expense is seen as a solid investment given the growth in UK business in recent years.
What does Foster think this investment adds to ECC’s levels of service, vehicle maintenance and sustainability initiatives?
Excellent driver welfare facilities, minimal off-route running and minimised down time due to an onsite maintenance partner. It’s primarily a consolidation of operations with room for continued future expansion. The new premises will continue to ensure strong team-working and provide a base for the on-going growth that the current disjointed operation would simply not have easily facilitated.
