Cloud-based warehouse and transport management software provider, Thomax, has completed its fourth go-live with UK third-party logistics provider Miniclipper Logistics. The Dunstable EAV warehouse has now switched over to Thomax wms. Four of Miniclipper’s six sites are running on the platform, and the full rollout is due to complete in Q1 2027.
Founded in 1971 as a one man and a van operation, Miniclipper is now a third-generation family business running around 60 trucks and employing 230 people. The business has moved from general haulage into pallet networks, warehousing and, increasingly, e-commerce fulfilment. That shift called for a WMS with e-commerce and kitting capability, full integration with customers’ ERP systems, and fast deployment through configuration rather than custom development. Thomax was selected after an extensive evaluation.
Since migrating, Miniclipper processes an order roughly every 5 seconds at peak times for its fulfilment operation in Burton-on-Trent, and has up to a month’s forward visibility of orders, which improves planning in an operation built on next-day delivery and strict KPIs. Each go-live has been phased site by site to protect service levels, with Thomax staff on site throughout.

The Dunstable facility follows the Burton-on-Trent, Cherrycourt Way and Hibay (both Leighton Buzzard) sites, which went live in 2025, and the Hibay warehouse in Leighton Buzzard in July 2026. The first site went live less than four months after contract sign-off.
Peter Masters, Managing Director at Miniclipper Logistics said:
“We needed a warehouse management system that could keep pace with our move into e-commerce fulfilment. Our main criteria were flexibility and the ability to implement quickly, and THOMAX .wms fitted the bill. They’ve been brilliant since we started the project, and we’re now picking faster and more effectively. I’ve had fantastic feedback from the team, who felt supported throughout the rollout and have already put forward ideas for operational improvements, many of which we’ve implemented.”
Thomas Jackson, Founder and Managing Director of THOMAX said:
“Miniclipper is a business that has continually reinvented itself over five decades, and has approached this rollout with the same ambition and discipline. They needed a system that could be up and running quickly and shaped around the way they work. We had the first site live in under four months, with our team on the ground supporting every go-live since. With the system now operational across most of the business, Miniclipper can integrate with customers’ systems on their terms, make the most of its increased capacity, and is well placed to keep growing and take on new opportunities.”
With the final two sites due to go live in Q1 2027, Miniclipper will complete its move to a single WMS platform across all six warehouses, less than two years after the first go-live.
