Transport and Logistics Cloud Technology

Almaviva today announces further acceleration in adopting cutting-edge cloud technologies for the transport and logistics sector, a significant driver for sustainable urban development and citizen well-being.

Almaviva’s years of experience with the MOOVA platform, a modular and cloud-ready solution leveraging advanced digital technologies to enable new sustainable mobility paradigms, combined with AWS cloud services, aims to provide innovative solutions to its customers in Italy and North America. The MOOVA platform, dedicated to Transportation and Logistics Authorities and Operators, offers a single advanced technological framework for future mobility: integrated, multimodal, sustainable, and as-a-service.

Since 2020, AWS has been present in Italy with a cloud infrastructure (Region) capable of offering Almaviva and its customers low-latency services, compliant with data security and protection regulations and digital sovereignty principles. This initiative represents a step forward towards greater sustainability and efficiency in transporting people and goods.

Almaviva is among the few selected companies worldwide that can boast the AWS Digital Sovereignty Competency. The AWS Digital Sovereignty Competency recognises the ability to support customers in addressing digital sovereignty requirements within the European Union, particularly for highly regulated sectors such as Public Administration, Finance, Healthcare, Energy, Utilities, and Telecommunications. In 2023, Almaviva received the ‘State or Local Government Partner of the Year – EMEA’ award, intended for the best AWS partners with Government Competency who have achieved innovative results with Central and Local Public Administrations. MOOVA integrates end-to-end processes for passengers and goods through 5 product lines and 19 products in a single platform based on international standards. Thanks to AWS cloud, Almaviva can now offer greater agility, scalability, and time-to-market to its customers.

This initiative also strengthens Almaviva’s presence in the North American market through Almaviva USA, accelerating the Group’s investments in infrastructure and transportation sectors in that region.

Warehouse Automation Through Partnership

The partnership with AWS will allow Addverb to leverage the cloud platform‘s machine learning, analytics, and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity capabilities to enhance the capabilities of its robotic solutions.

In response to the increasing disruptions and delays faced by the global supply chain, Addverb is committed to meeting the growing demand for faster and more efficient service. Through its collaboration with AWS, Addverb can now test and deploy hardware and software up to 50% faster than ever before – a game-changer in expediting services and minimizing supply chain interruptions.

“As part of our unwavering commitment to innovation, Addverb sought a solution to expand our software and hardware innovations without the need for a complete architectural overhaul,” shared Sriram Sridhar, Chief Revenue Officer at Addverb. “AWS emerged as the clear choice due to its seamless integration capabilities with our existing infrastructure. Using AWS services, Addverb shortened its development cycle from 3-6 months down to 2-3 months. AWS’s analytics tools provided more accurate testing environments through warehouse simulations, helping developers analyse data and optimize operations in real-time. Addverb also leveraged AWS’s security and reliability features to ensure data privacy and minimize the risk of downtime, resulting in increased efficiency, reduced costs, and improved customer satisfaction.

Addverb is using AWS’s comprehensive suite of services, with an emphasis on RoboMaker and IoT Greengrass. RoboMaker empowers developers to run test templates and log software events, resulting in enhanced evaluation and reporting and an 80% reduction in testing time. Meanwhile, IoT Greengrass has enabled Addverb to leverage shipping containers for expedited robot delivery and real-time remote monitoring.
