Realignment for Specialist Attachment Manufacturer

Since 1st January 2025, specialist attachment manufacturer Schulte-Henke GmbH is officially operating under the name stabau GmbH. The company will adopt the name of its established brand for attachments, stationary equipment and telescopic forks for intralogistics. But this is more than just a simple name change. The strategic realignment will see the company and the brand stabau GmbH become a key player within the Hubtex Group.

Repositioning the company

For more than 50 years, Schulte-Henke GmbH from Meschede, Germany has been manufacturing forklift attachments for every application under the name stabau. This name change creates one clear identity for the company, its employees and the stabau brand. Uniformity not only improves communication and ensures recognition, but also creates the basis for a stronger market presence.

One name that consolidates

The decision to change the name is not only a step towards a clear brand identity, but also a strategic measure for international expansion. “The name stabau has always been synonymous with quality, innovation and reliability,” explains Hans-Joachim Finger, Managing Director of the HUBTEX Group. “By changing the name, we are emphasising these values even more and creating a clear identity that will also help us advance internationally.” To further expand international sales activities, new locations have been established in the US and the United Kingdom. The close collaboration between stabau and the HUBTEX Group also strengthens the brand’s global presence and opens up new markets. Customers, especially international customers, benefit from fast service, physical proximity and stabau’s reputation for high quality.

LogiMAT 2025

Another highlight of 2025 will be the LogiMAT trade fair taking place from 11th to 13th March in Stuttgart. Together with partner companies HUBTEX and Genkinger, stabau will be exhibiting at the leading trade fair from stand 10C31 in hall 10. “LogiMAT gives us the opportunity to present our new identity to an international audience and to make new business contacts,” says Stefan Huhn, Plant Manager at stabau.

Lateral Transport with Space-saving Potential

HUBTEX is expanding its MaxX series with a new model – the MaxX 60 electric multidirectional sideloader. The model is designed for handling long goods with a load capacity between 5 and 6 t both indoors and outdoors. The MaxX series incorporates the most popular features of the Phoenix electric multidirectional sideloader, yet maintains an attractive price-performance ratio. The MaxX 60 is therefore a cost-effective alternative to older diesel vehicles, particularly when used for loading and unloading trucks.

The MaxX 60 is strategically designed to be suitable for a wide range of applications in long goods handling, for indoor or outdoor use. When developing the new model, HUBTEX focused on optimising outdoor performance. The aim was also to create a truck that could navigate tight contours in narrow environments. The configuration therefore includes large tyres and high ground clearance – both of which are essential for outdoor use. At the same time, the new MaxX 60 has a compact load bed height so that the rack capacity can be optimally utilised when moving between rack aisles indoors.

“By combining a high ground clearance of 185 mm, large elastic tyres and a reduced load bed height of 535 mm, the MaxX 60 can make optimal use of the storage space inside while remaining as versatile as possible outside. This was our aim during development, as the option to use the industrial truck both indoors and outdoors is very important to our customers,” explains Michael Röbig, authorised representative and head of product management at HUBTEX.

Another special feature of the new MaxX model is its drive. The industrial truck is equipped with two powerful 7 kW electric motors, which ensure impressive driving performance (even on inclines) – an important feature for outdoor use. The ergonomically equipped cabin, which proved popular with previous models, is also maintained in the MaxX 60. The cabin is optimised for a high level of driver comfort and clear all-round view. The alignment of the lift mast also increases the visibility. The design is tailored precisely to the load capacity range of the MaxX 60.

Optional 360° HX steering available with the MaxX 60

Users of the MaxX 60 don’t have to forego the patented HX 360° steering. The steering is available as an option and allows smooth changes in direction from lengthwise to crosswise or circular travel without stopping. The HX steering is particularly popular for block storage of bulky panel materials, but also has other advantages. For example, it significantly reduces wheel wear as the wheels no longer turn on the spot.

The MaxX 60 is the perfect addition to the HUBTEX MaxX series. The entry-level MaxX series was previously available in three versions with a load capacity of 3 to 4.5 t. The trucks impress with high quality and performance combined with an attractive price-performance ratio. The trucks in the MaxX series combine the most popular and best-selling features of the HUBTEX electric multidirectional sideloaders. They provide a good alternative to older diesel trucks in the affordable entry-level range.

“If users want a truck that can be customised further, we are also happy to advise on our PhoeniX series,” explains Röbig. With an almost endless number of possible combinations (application-specific fork carriage designs, cabins, lift masts and individual equipment options), the PhoeniX modular system can be used to create a perfectly customised HUBTEX multidirectional sideloader.

Space-optimisation with Narrow Aisles

Narrow aisle warehouses are masterpieces in space-saving. Yet the narrow aisles between the high racks still need to be navigated, placing particular requirements on handling long loads and calling on logistics operators to take specific safety precautions. Two new vehicle series from Hubtex, designed for narrow aisles – the PhoeniX 2829-XS and 2921-S – guarantee both safety and compactness.

Companies short on storage space often opt for a narrow-aisle warehouse, preferring to pack their products high to minimise aisle width. This means reducing the safety clearances between each side of the industrial truck and the rack from their usual 500 mm to a minimum of 100 mm. It also places greater demands on the materials handling equipment, requiring it to be strong, compact and manoeuvrable in order to transport and lift long loads along the narrow aisles. HUBTEX’s new PhoeniX 2829-XS and 2821-S series have been developed specifically for use in narrow aisles. “Lift truck drivers can manoeuvre safely while also lifting their customers’ specific loads without causing any damage because the vehicles are so compact and come equipped with integrated rack guidance systems such as mechanical, inductive or optical track guidance,” says Michael Röbig, Head of Product Management. “Space-saving sit-down or stand-up cabs also give lift truck drivers an unbeatable all-round view. At the same time, assistance systems such as the mobile personnel protection system fitted to the vehicle, which uses laser scanners, helps to improve employee safety even further.”

Assistance systems: an optimised workflow for narrow aisles

Besides track guidance and camera systems, it is primarily the HUBTEX Load Manager (HLM) and electronic load chart that help drivers to handle bulky, long or heavy loads. The HLM is an electronic device with 99 freely programmable lift height positions. The lift mast stops at the pre-selected rack compartment level. The system works differently depending on whether goods are being moved in or out of storage, saving valuable time while also reducing the risk of damage to goods in storage. This is because there is no danger of goods being damaged through uncontrolled penetration into the rack compartment.

Another feature, the electronic load chart, uses sensors to record the angle of the fork carrier, the centre of gravity of the load, its weight and its lifting height. The display screen shows the driver how high their goods are allowed to be lifted. Exceeding the permitted lifting height or other parameter thresholds will trigger an overload message. Depending on how it is configured, the system can also instigate overload actions: the lifting process can be stopped automatically, the symbol on the screen can turn red, and an acoustic warning can sound. As long as the symbol stays green, the goods can be lifted safely to their maximum height.
