Major Industry Meet-Up in March

LogiMAT 2025 is once again filling over 120,000 square metres in all ten exhibit halls of the Messe Stuttgart convention centre in March for the industry meet-up. Global players, SMEs, and startups are coming together March 11–13 to showcase a comprehensive collection of the latest intralogistics products and innovations, including many never before seen anywhere else in the world, and to offer solutions to the challenges of today.

LogiMAT, the International Trade Show for Intralogistics Solutions and Process Management, invites logistics professionals, system developers, and equipment manufacturers to kick of the 2025 trade show season with this year’s theme of “Passion for Solutions.” The global intralogistics community from over 80 countries will gather once again, March 11–13, in the ten fully booked exhibit halls of the Messe Stuttgart convention center, including the entire East Entrance. Over 1,500 exhibitors from around the world, including 200 attending LogiMAT for the first time, will present industry professionals with their latest products, solutions, and innovations for efficient intralogistics across over 120,000 square meters of exhibit space. “LogiMAT has a special role to play this year amid global disruptions and the profound transformation currently unfolding in industry and manufacturing,” reflects LogiMAT Exhibition Director Michael Ruchty from Munich-based event organizer EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH. “The key themes of artificial intelligence (AI), sustainability, and skilled labor shortages are creating various challenges as the dominant global trends. At LogiMAT, exhibitors representing all industry sectors will present solutions and their latest developments to confront these challenges effectively.”

System performance and sustainability

Shelving system and equipment manufacturers, systems integrators, and material handling technology providers will be on hand in Hall 1 (including the gallery level) plus Halls 3, 5, and 7 to present new compact storage systems for pallets and containers, new pouch sorters, system shuttles with new features, and much more. What’s traditionally the largest exhibitor group is focusing on AI-supported automation and linking system performance more closely with sustainability. Flexible, high-efficiency system solutions are designed to enhance system life and support sustainable investments through reusable components. The integration of robotics technology in the product portfolio of several exhibitors also ensures a smooth collaboration between humans and machines.

AGVs, AMRs, and carrybots for unrestricted transport options

In the intralogistics industry, industrial robots are considered a key factor in optimizing processes and helping to counteract the shortage of skilled labor. The latest developments in the field of picking robots can be viewed in the gallery in Hall 1. In addition to shuttle vehicles for shelf storage systems, several machinery and equipment manufacturers will also be presenting new and improved service robots for untethered intralogistical transports. These automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and carrybots will be largely concentrated in Hall 8 at LogiMAT 2025. The specialized manufacturers there are leaning in on innovations in transport and picking robots designed to alleviate the labor shortage. In addition, the Mobile Robotics User Forum returns in 2025 to the gallery level in Hall 6, where members of Forum AGV will offer unbiased expert advice to AGV users and anyone interested in mobile robotics.

Forklift manufacturers present innovations and world premieres

The next generation of AGVs, traditional industrial trucks, and assistance systems also sets the tone for forklift manufacturers, exhibiting in Halls 9 and 10. All major international industry players will once again be represented at LogiMAT 2025 with their latest product portfolio. Manufacturers have already announced the introduction of new 3- and 4-wheel forklifts, new counterbalance forklift trucks for the up-to-two-ton segment, a new series of electric side forklifts, and the market launch of the world’s first automated cobot for pallet transport. Exhibitors also plan to unveil innovations in alternative powertrains and share insights into the near and distant future of intralogistics using robots, drones, and autonomous vehicles. In Halls 7 and 9, visitors can also find the latest innovations from suppliers of cranes, gates, loading technology, and fire protection systems and solutions.

Sustainable, efficient processes

Hall 6 features the latest packaging technology and container and storage solutions, with a special emphasis on sustainability in the wake of recent changes to EU packaging regulations. This is reflected in the range of products for right-sized packaging, strapping machines with paper straps, smart reusable packaging, and reusable labels. New high-performance packaging lines, advanced mobile transport systems, innovative scanner hardware, RTLS and RFID solutions, e-paper, radio-controlled digital labels, and sensor-supported high-speed gates are also designed to streamline warehouse processes.

AI-based features and algorithms

The foundation for the integrated exchange of information in intralogistics and supply chains is smart IT infrastructure coupled with AIDC technology. Software companies are coming to LogiMAT 2025 to present the latest solutions for cutting-edge warehouse, transport, and supply chain management with fully integrated data exchange. This year’s focus in Hall 4 is on the coordination of efficient processes, comprehensive cloud solutions that reduce capital expenditure, the modularization of systems, and AI-based functions and algorithms for smart data filtering and analysis. The innovations on display enable packaging and packaging scheme optimization, comprehensive simulations with virtual go-lives, digital twins for analyzing and optimizing production and logistics processes, and the AI-supported optimization of processes for exchanging trailers, containers, and swap bodies.

Identification and data capture in the flow

Exhibitors from the AIDC industry complete the picture with their presentations in Hall 2. AIM-D returns to present the Tracking & Tracing Theatre live event. Visiting professionals can also take in the latest applicators, semi- and fully automated labeling and label printing systems for identification directly in the material flow, and the newest breakthroughs in security labels, e-paper, RFID, and reusable labels. Data capture systems on display will include the latest handheld scanners, scanning gates, measuring and weighing systems, and near-field and RTLS solutions.

Combi-CUBE Launched in Stuttgart

As Combilift celebrates 25 years of innovation, the company plans to ensure that 2023 will be a year to remember, by launching multiple products across various exhibitions on a global scale. To kick off, the newest product – the COMBi-CUBE was launched at the LogiMAT International Intralogistics show in Stuttgart.

This new electric model incorporates a host of technological and design features that not only enhance handling procedures but also offer a high level of driver comfort. Combilift’s unique dynamic 360 steering that enables seamless directional change while on the move can be integrated into the Combi-CUBE as an optional extra, making it one of the most manoeuvrable counterbalance forklifts on the market.

Further notable features are the large rear wheel and rubber tyres on all three wheels. This means that, unlike certain other brands of electric multidirectional trucks, this model is not restricted to super flat floors and is eminently suitable for working indoors and out, ensuring that semi-rough terrain is no impediment to reliable operation. More than 1,500 exhibitors from Europe, North and South America, Asia, and Africa will present their current portfolios of products, systems, and solutions for efficient intralogistics processes to an international industry audience across 125,000 square meters of the fully booked exhibition centre—7% more exhibit space than last year. “Every trusting business relationship begins with a personal conversation,” notes Exhibition Director Michael Ruchty of event organizer EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH in Munich, explaining the event’s theme. “LogiMAT is back in April 2023 with another excellent opportunity to network, forge important strategic alliances, and have face-to-face meetings with key national and international players from a wide range of industry sectors.”

Investments are flowing into state-of-the-art industrial trucks, process automation, IT upgrades, and sustainability concepts with the aim of achieving more flexible system designs and automation solutions in a volatile market. The latest product and system innovations that exhibitors from around the world are bringing to LogiMAT 2023 highlight the industry’s adaptability in the face of tremendous global economic challenges—a validation of the innovative power of the industry and its potential for further optimization.

The percentage of exhibitors coming to this year’s LogiMAT from outside Germany has risen to nearly a third, reflecting the event’s increasingly international profile amid the current global economic climate. This trend is especially pronounced among the 200 first-time exhibitors, nearly 70 percent of which are based outside of Germany. “We have 25 first-time exhibitors from Asia alone, including 20 from China. Overseas companies now account for 25 percent of our exhibitors,” Ruchty confirms. “We’re also pleased to see a few more exhibitors from Africa and South America. These latest figures really underscore the growing international importance of LogiMAT for companies beyond Europe. The successful LogiMAT offshoots in China and Thailand are also critical in supporting this trend.”

LogiMAT is upholding its reputation as an event that is “easy on the feet” by once again grouping exhibitors by product category within the ten exhibit halls, with an improved layout this year. The largest exhibitor contingent is systems integrators and machinery and equipment manufacturers, who will present their latest products and solutions for moving goods efficiently in Halls 1 (including the Gallery), 3, 5, and 7. The products, systems, and solutions on display there meet the demands of today’s marketplace. “As prices rise, material flow and logistics professionals are also focusing their attention more closely on energy efficiency,” Ruchty observes. “Exhibitors across all ten halls are showing how sustainability and the efficient use of resources can be successfully reconciled through sound investments in state-of-the-art products and solutions—either by modernizing and optimizing existing systems or by acquiring new technology.”

Holistic view of sustainability and resource efficiency

The logistics and intralogistics industry is often at the vanguard when it comes to solutions to reduce energy consumption and use resources more efficiently. This includes being a “trailblazer of the circular economy” in the words of Dr. Johannes Fottner, Full Professor for Logistics Engineering at the Technical University of Munich, in the title of his presentation as part of the accompanying program at LogiMAT 2023. The industry took a holistic view of sustainability and resource efficiency even before the current shortage of skilled workers emerged or new local and international regulations on the designation of industrial and logistics sites took effect. The spectrum of solutions ranges from recycling, retrofitting, circular systems and energy conservation to optimizing personnel and space utilization. Examples include compact warehouse and picking solutions with an energy recovery system, sleep mode when order volumes are low, and lightweight construction for reduced energy consumption. The use of supercapacitor technology improves the energy efficiency of shuttle robots, and nearly all manufacturers now offer energy recovery systems and high-frequency charging technology in their industrial trucks. New lower-consumption identification solutions and the integration of sensor technology and AI-supported industrial image processing increase visibility and deliver more efficient processes with less resources required. Manufacturers at LogiMAT 2023 will also present the latest developments in the integration of alternative powertrains such as lithium-ion and hydrogen/fuel-cell technology.

The exhibitors at LogiMAT 2023 are coming to the Messe Stuttgart convention centre to unveil a wide array of innovations offering different approaches to meet the market’s need for more high-tech automation and flexibility through sustainability and efficiency. Visitors can learn all about the latest crane sets, turnkey systems, transfer cars and floor lifts, lifting and handling systems for a wide variety of loads, and drive systems for unidirectional, bidirectional or omnidirectional manoeuvrability.

In Halls 9 and 10 on the opposite southern axis of the convention centre grounds and the open space between Halls 10 and 8, industrial truck manufacturers from around the world are presenting their latest innovations and forward-looking concept studies. Nearly all the world’s leading manufacturers are coming to Stuttgart once again this year. The innovations on display range from the latest forklifts, order picking vehicles, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) with the latest features such as innovative alternatives to the steering wheel. You can also experience the latest developments in driver assistance and fleet management systems, “green performance” and alternative drive technologies, and battery and energy management. Exhibitors have announced plans to unveil never-before-exhibited reach trucks, electric counterbalance and multi-directional forklifts, vertical order pickers, narrow aisle trucks, low-lift pallet trucks, and much more.

Information technology enables the data analytics and control needed to modernize and automate warehouse processes. Suppliers of software solutions for intralogistics, the second-largest contingent of exhibitors at LogiMAT 2023, are presenting a wide range of innovations in warehouse and transportation management systems in Hall 8. Visitors can also marvel at powerful new material flow computers, analytics modules for business and performance data, an EDI portal solution for exchanging documents without an ERP system, new cloud-based apps, and AI-powered tech for real-time imaging analysis.

10,500 square meters of floorspace for AGVs and robots

LogiMAT 2023 is also breaking new ground in the area of AGVs and robotics. “This segment is developing so rapidly that we expanded its exhibition area to meet the demand,” explains Exhibition Director Ruchty. “We moved this segment to Hall 6, where we’ll have a total of 10,500 square meters available for the mobile materials handling equipment and robots, more than double last year’s space.” The products on display will include the latest stationary and mobile picking robots and cobots with AI-powered imaging and the first fully autonomous AGVs for both indoor and outdoor applications.

The East Entrance will also once again host the exhibit area for innovative start-ups sponsored by the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. LogiMAT 2023 also comes alive with an extensive and engaging accompanying program of presentations by experts from the business and academic communities, informative exhibitor presentations, live events on cargo securement and the Tracking & Tracing Theatre presented by AIM-D. “All in all, LogiMAT 2023 offers a breadth of products and information on current trends and solutions not available to industry professionals anywhere else,” concludes Exhibition Director Ruchty. “We look forward to once again showcasing the international intralogistics industry in Stuttgart in late April, and we hope all exhibitors and visitors will enjoy stimulating and informative conversations.”

SSI Schaefer’s own WAMAS logistics software will be brought to life digitally at the trade fair with all its products and modules. Via an augmented reality tool, booth visitors can explore a virtual warehouse and understand the interaction of the WAMAS modules with the equipment and systems.
