USB-connected Desktop Printer Supports Logistics

To enhance its affordable desktop and mobile printer ranges, TSC Printronix Auto ID today launched the DH220E desktop device with USB connectivity, designed for affordable, everyday printing demands in busy logistics operations. Also, to support its popular Alpha mobile printers, TSC today launched some new accessories to assist in performing diverse labelling tasks in shipping and receiving, or direct store delivery. The accessories include:

· 12-48V wire to wire battery eliminator with power supply
· 12-60V DC vehicle open end power adaptor
· External fanfold media holder with expansion kit
· Quick release vehicle mount kit
· Wire to wire dummy battery pack

New DH220E desktop with USB interface for everyday printing in logistics

“Our new DH 220E is a desktop printer that connects via USB cable and prints direct thermal media. It prints from 10mm* to 60mm widths and retains the same unique qualities of the rest of the DH Series, ensuring optimal performance,” says Bob Vines, UK, Ireland & Nordics country manager for TSC Printronix Auto ID. “It offers 203 dpi or 300 dpi print options and is effortless to integrate and use.”

In line with TSC’s commitment to sustainability and reducing environmental impact, DH220E can print on linerless media, which, apart from offering benefits like printing labels of any length, helps reduce waste and supports sustainability objectives. Both the packaging and printers‘ plastic casings on the TH DH Series are 100% recyclable, and over 90% of the devices‘ components are recyclable too. Versatile new Desktop Printers

To enable businesses to future-proof their increasingly diverse labelling needs, TSC Printronix Auto ID has just launched its new generation of desktop printers; the TH DH Series. Effortless to integrate and use, and with enhanced security, these devices will produce high-quality labels on a wide variety of media.

Suitable for applications in retail, food and drink, clothing, healthcare and logistics, the TH DH Series will precision print anything from card swing tags and fabric care labels to specimen labels and shrink tubes. “This new range easily conquers most label printing challenges, be they thick, tiny, long or application-specific like vehicle registration plates,” says Bob Vines, UK, Ireland & Nordics country manager for TSC Printronix Auto ID. “It can do this with minimal intervention by IT managers, just simple adjustments to the DPI algorithm, heater line and TPH pressure.“

Optional extras like wireless connectivity, cutter and peeler modules enable companies to scale up applications without having to replace the whole printer, thereby prolonging product life-cycles. The TH DH Series is available in 2-inch and 4-inch models, with 203 dpi or 300 dpi print options in each. They can print up to 7,000† labels a day. A healthcare version is also available, featuring an antibacterial exterior to perform in medical environments.

Integration and deployment of the TH DH Series is seamless, label templates stay the same even when switching from other printer brands. Remote real-time monitoring and management, and self-diagnostic TPH Care means fast trouble- shooting and maximum uptime. Smaller, Faster, Greener Automatic Labelling

To meet the growing demand for accurate, high-speed and easy to use industrial automatic labelling systems, TSC Printronix Auto ID has just launched a popular-sized 4-inch version of its PEX-2000 Series print engine. This powerful device promises to save time, money and resources in logistics operations, the pharmaceutical industry and manufacturing, especially food and drink.

Print engines perform an essential role in print and apply operations and design of the new 4-inch PEX-2000 has been carefully considered for both system integrators and users. Its compact full-metal chassis is 14% smaller at the rear than its mainstream peers and the device can easily be integrated into just about any automatic labelling system supporting DB15 and DB 25 connectors. Its adjustable peel-off module gives systems integrators greater design flexibility by setting label feed-out to their preferred angle (-3º to -18º).

“Furthermore, the PEX-2000 offers 55mm wide media handling space for simpler installation or parts changes, and a quick release mechanism for printhead and roller change. Any repairs or maintenance are significantly expedited by the rear chassis simply being lifted and pulled out,” says Bob Vines, UK, Ireland & Nordics country manager for TSC Printronix Auto ID. One of the most interesting developments of the new 4-inch PEX-2000 is the option for enterprises to reduce their environmental impact and costs by saving ribbon waste by 30% to 80%, especially special colour ribbons like gold or silver. The patented ribbon-saving function minimises large, wasteful non-printed areas, displaying percentages saved on the LCD monitor.

“The 4-inch PEX-2000 Series has been designed to meet diverse applications, including RFID encoding capability,“ suggests Bob. “Its high label registration supports label printing as small as 5mm high, with print deviation of ±0.4mm. Its super-fast print speed of up to 18 inches per second (ips) will scale up any print and apply label application and enable enterprises to meet one cycle time with high stability.”

TSC Printronix Auto ID offers value-added software tools like SOTI Connect and TSC Console to enable system integrators and/or end customers to manage and monitor their print engines through the internet or intranet, depending on users‘ needs. Both tools enable quick deployment, configuration, and updates from any location.

Linerless Industrial Printer Improves Productivity

In response to the growing demand for linerless labelling, TSC Printronix Auto ID has just launched its first linerless industrial printer to add to its range of mobile and desktop linerless printers. The MB240 can print up to 10,000 labels a day with a tear-off kit or robust cutter. It is ideally suited to fast-paced sectors such as e-commerce, logistics, and food and drink.

The MB240 is compact and its all-metal construction will deliver trouble-free printing in the toughest and most demanding of environments. It can print up to 12 ips, has a heavy-duty cycle, and can handle 8-inch outer diameter (OD) label rolls. It has been tested for compatibility with the majority of linerless labels with permanent, removable or freezer-grade adhesives. Its special anti-adhesive linerless kit reduces residue from label adhesive and prevents paper jams. Worker safety has also been considered in its design with a cutter lock sensor and upper blade protector.

The global linerless label market is developing fast and is expected to reach USD 3.09 million* by 2032. The growth is driven, in part, by the need for more sustainable packaging as well as a requirement for more information to be included on labels.

Being able to print labels of any length from just one roll means that not only can comprehensive information be included but productivity can also be increased as operators don’t have to keep switching between rolls of different sized self-adhesive labels. Another much heralded advantage of linerless labelling is employee safety as the slip hazards of conventional liner backings are eliminated.
