Intelligent carriage plate with Weigh in Motion technology RAVAS USA has expanded its current range of iCPs, intelligent carriage plates, with Weigh in Motion technology. In the past, operators had to physically stop their forklift truck to capture the weight of a pallet. With RAVAS’ Weigh in Motion technology, you can weigh on the go without stopping or interrupting your logistics process. While driving at a consistent speed on a level surface, you can now generate reliable data on weight and volume in real time. The data can be transferred to any ERP or WMS and used to invoice your customers by weight. RAVAS’ Weigh in Motion technology is set to revolutionize supply chain optimization.

The RAVAS iCP is a proven, dependable product that enables you to weigh ‘difficult to pack’ products in combination with pre-construction equipment, such as a clamp or rotator. The iCP is available in wired or wireless models. Also, the iCP is NTEP certified to ensure you meet legal-for-trade requirements so you can invoice your customers by weight.

RPW EL scale for electric walkies and rider trucks

The revolutionary RAVAS RPW EL, a scale for electric walkies and rider trucks and order picking trucks, is available for every make and model of truck. Whether you are about to purchase one or more new trucks or you already own a fleet of trucks, our RPW EL solution is available for both retrofit and factory fit. To make a truck weighing, the fork construction of the truck is mechanically modified so that scale components can be mounted with only 5 mm extra fork height. Every lifted load is immediately weighed and communicated. Data communication and integration turns your order picking applications, supply chain optimization or production optimization into a true data collector. This data saves you time, money and obviously makes your processes more efficient and insightful.

iForks

The world’s first and most complete wireless forklift weighing fork sets, the RAVAS iForks can be quickly mounted on any forklift and immediately improve the efficiency of your logistics process. iForks improve crossdocking, weighing incoming and outgoing goods, and safely loading and unloading containers. The weighing system’s components are fully integrated into the forks, eliminating the need for additional cabling, that means installation on all makes of forklift trucks (new and used) is quick and effortless. The weight captured by the iForks is displayed on an indicator positioned in the forklift truck’s cabin. That information is then sent wirelessly via Bluetooth to your WMS. Available with both regular forks and extra thin forks, these weighing forks are powered by compact Lithium-ion batteries and come standard with Bluetooth 4.0 data transfer capabilities.

RAVAS manufactures and distributes mobile weighing solutions, integrated in hand pallet jacks, warehouse trucks and forklift trucks. Mobile scales enable you to weigh and measure your load during transport. Our connectivity solutions help you to improve logistics and optimize your supply chain.

Bulk bagging system helps meet aggregate demand

Leading robotics and automation company, RMGroup, has supplied one of its industry-leading bulk bagging systems, a BB-400, to building materials supplier Tippers.

As an existing customer, the new equipment supplements Tippers’ existing BB-400 bulk bagging and form fill & seal vertical packaging system, and comes as a result of increases in demand for virgin and decorative aggregates across Tippers’ branches throughout the Midlands region.

The BB-400 is the fastest bulk bagger from RMGroup. The system is capable of filling three bulk bags per minute and able to refill to weighment in just 17 seconds. A large 20 tonne heavy duty hopper feeds onto a large in-feed belt conveyor, which then feeds the BB-400.

The FIBC filling machine itself is controlled by an integrated weighing system that fills the hopper to a pre-set weighment, making bulk automation very precise at high-speed and volume. Built to a high standard, the systems are guaranteed to withstand 20 years of service even with the most abrasive raw materials.

Commenting on the BB-400, Tippers’ Bill Tipper, said: “The installation process was flawless from delivery to installation and the engineers were very knowledgeable and helpful. The BB-400 bulk bagger fully meets our expectations and performance requirements. With our expert aggregates yard staff, we are able to produce bulk bags inline with set daily quotas. This allows us to increase our output, meaning we can meet and service customer demand, as well as introduce new bulk bagged aggregate products to the group.

“Tippers have a very strong working relationship with RMGroup. The team is just one phone call away and are always helpful with any issues we may have. Where an issue can’t be resolved on a call, RMGroup has a very fast call out response to ensure our machines are up and running quickly. As our business continues to grow and the need for increased production arises, RMGroup would be the first choice for additional equipment.”

Ed Pugh, RMGroup’s sales director, added: “The ongoing popularity of the BB-400 amongst aggregate suppliers shows that its robust construction means it is well suited to handle the large loading shovels that operate in the quarries and bagging plants. We are delighted that Tippers value our relationship and we look forward to providing them with our bagging expertise again in the future.”

With the introduction of the Puro series of industrial scales, Minebea Intec says its leading technologies are now available in an affordable range.

With an extensive range and a variety of applications, a large number of innovative industrial weighing solutions are now available as part of the Puro range. Minebea Intec says this means that customers benefit from a high-quality product from a leading manufacturer of weighing and inspection technology, that is available at an affordable price. Every model is created with the customer’s requirements in mind.

Just one look at the industrial scale Puro is enough to see why it pays to choose a globally recognised provider of weighing and inspection technologies: thanks to its decades of expertise, Minebea Intec knows what customers consider important. During development, the primary focus was on making the product easy for customers to operate. This is directly reflected in many of the new weighing solution’s features.

Intuitive operation and optimum customer convenience

Large displays on the front and back with LCD backlight guarantee optimal readability, stabilisation in a matter of seconds provides immediate weighing results, and the tactile buttons ensure intuitive operation. Depending on the requirement profile, there are models offering features such as a rear display enabling users to read from both sides, a traffic light LED for checkweighing, and non-slip feet for use in challenging environments. The user interface is universally compatible, making handling easier for the user, regardless which model they are using.

“With Puro, we have reached another milestone.” explains Minebea Intec’s CSO Frank Wieland. “The innovative weighing solution represents the ideal addition to our portfolio, with fast delivery available anywhere in the world thanks to our smart distribution system: with three supply hubs in China, USA and Germany, we are able to ensure that our partners always have the right model in stock – which, in turn, means that the product is quickly available for the customer.”

With this innovative weighing solution, Minebea Intec is adding a fully portable scale with re-chargeable lithium-ion battery to its range. This gives the product up to 500 hours of service life, thereby delivering precise measurement results in the process. The product also impresses thanks to a weighing industry first: Puro is the first industrial scale in the world that can be charged via USB C.

Features like this truly make the Puro series a weighing solution of the future as customers no longer have to rely on often expensive manufacturer-specific power units and thus can charge their scale economically using the standard plug connector.

Convenience, precision and pure innovation

From the development phase onwards, care was taken to ensure the Puro product portfolio would cover a wide range of applications and customer requirements. The product is primarily suited for use in weighing, unit counting or quality control in the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries and helps increase quality, efficiency and output of the process.

However, there are no restrictions on how you use the new range of scales, so they could also be used in other places such as specialist retailers.

With the Puro range, the customer benefits from a weighing solution that is intuitive and quick to use and, thanks to its robust materials, can also be used in challenging environments. Thanks to the optional Bluetooth or WiFi module, the Puro models can be connected wirelessly to PCs or printers and can be used in a fully location-independent manner.

Available worldwide and with the customer in just a few days

All models have one thing in common, as Product Manager Lena Silies underlines: “Our brand new industrial scale Puro not only impresses thanks to its design, the features and the versatile portfolio: fast delivery is also guaranteed thanks to distribution via certified partners and the Puro online store. Delivery is triggered online at the push of a button, and the customer has the scale within just a few days.” relates Silies.

A wide range of different models is available, covering a variety of applications. At the time of the market launch, the product portfolio covers compact scales, tabletop and floor scales as well as platform scales for tabletops. The individual models are available in different sizes, capacities and resolutions, thus covering wide range of applications. This is just the start: more products will soon be added to the Puro portfolio on an ongoing basis, so that we can provide our customers with the best possible selection of products.

Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Intelligence

Covid-19 is straining supply chains around the world, most notably those of pharmaceutical companies. Scarcity of raw materials upstream and overheated demand downstream cause disruptions. Control over their supply chain is a major challenge for all pharma companies today. RAVAS provides a range of mobile weighing systems uniquely adapted to use in pharmaceutical supply chains, from production to distribution, from cleanroom to shipping bay. These connected mobile weighing systems provide constant information on material flows. Information that enables pharma companies to optimize efficiency in their use of material resources, and to monitor their supply chain, both upstream and downstream.

Cleanroom champion

Take the RAVAS Touch GMP: a stainless steel pallet truck scale, uniquely suited for batching processes in pharmaceutical production environments. All surfaces on this mobile scale are electro polished and completely closed on the upper side. The underside of the scale forks are open, to prevent accumulation of moisture and substances. All welds on this stainless steel truck are continuous and polished, its bearings are made of lubrication free polymers. The scale is also available in ATEX certified version, for use in hazardous environments.

Main features

RAVAS has made the Touch GMP a highly accurate scale, thanks to the use of their patented FlexBolts. The touch screen display provides several advanced functional programs, for batching, dosing, and for entry and registration of product-ID’s. A range of connectivity options enables communication of weight data, for documented quality management and traceability. And when the cleanroom is cleaned in-between batches, you simply roll the scale aside.

Connected forklift trucks monitor supply chains

RAVAS iForks is a set of scale forks that can be installed on any lift truck in ten minutes. It enables the weighing of palletized goods without taking them out of the logistic process, and turns forklifts into platforms for gathering data on material flows. Checking inbound goods while offloading freight trucks. Weighing raw materials while moving them between production and warehouse, for stock control. Weighing outbound goods in the shipping bay, for verification, planning and avoiding overloads.

Connectivity creates intelligence in supply chains All RAVAS mobile weighing systems, whether installed on forklift trucks, hand pallet trucks or warehouse trucks, provide connectivity to TMS, WMS or ERP systems. Via Bluetooth to devices used on or near the truck, or over the user’s wireless network. This creates fleets of connected trucks throughout the supply chain, continuously gathering data on material flows. This information on goods moving through the supply chains enables companies to be more efficient and, bottom line, to be more profitable.

Data Collection from Weighing Systems on your Mobile

RAVAS, a specialist in mobile weighing solutions, recently launched an update of the RAVAS WeightsApp, an app that makes it possible to work smarter with a mobile weighing system. This new and improved version is now available for download.

Display weight on site

It is a common situation in the warehouse: the indicator of the mobile weighing system is too far away for the employee to read directly. RAVAS has the solution for this: the RAVAS WeightsApp. This app makes it possible to display the weighed weight on the spot and directly on a smartphone or tablet. The app also stores the weighed gross weights, together with the tare weight, product code, date, time and ID of the weighing system or operator.

Additional features for greater convenience

But the app goes beyond displaying weighted weight. The stored data set can be viewed at any time and can also be sent as a CSV file to any e-mail address so that it can be imported into a spreadsheet program on a PC. As an additional function, the app makes it possible to download a log file of the RAVAS indicator and send it as a CSV file for technical analysis in case of malfunctions. When working with an Android or iOS device that has an integrated barcode scanner, it can be used to enter product IDs. More information about the RAVAS WeightsApp can be found on the website.
