TSC Auto ID to Present First Colour Printer Series at LogiMAT

By releasing the new CPX4 series, TSC Auto ID says it is setting new standards in the market once again. The advanced digital label printing solution for the cost-effective ‘colour printing on demand’ consists of the models CPX4D and CPX4P. The easy to use all-rounders distinguish themselves, according to the company, by an excellent printing resolution, brilliant colour quality and low costs for consumables and per printed page. Printing at 300 mm/s they offer the fastest printing speed in their class.

The two printers mainly differ on the ink type. While the CPX4D uses so called water-based dye-ink for printing universally useable blank labels, the CPX4P’s colour quality  is created by pigments in the ink.

The excellent printing resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi allows the precise and brilliant printing of colour pictures, barcodes and text on labels with a width up to 120 mm. The CPX4 series supports label rolls with an outside diameter up to 7.9” (200 mm) and an inside diameter of 3” (76 mm). Therefore, the time necessary for changing the material is reduced while the productivity in the labelling process is increased. The precise printing of small labels 25.4 mm (width) x 6 mm (length) is en-abled by modern sensor technology and reliable media handling.

Meet TSC Auto ID next week at LogiMAT 2019 in hall 6, booth D11, Messe Stuttgart.

Interroll to Demonstrate New DC Drive Platform in Stuttgart

Interroll Group is to present modular plug-and-play solutions for the smart conveyance technology era at next week’s LogiMAT in Stuttgart. The highlight is its new DC drive platform.

The new platform consists of a range of coordinated motor rollers—the RollerDrive—as well as control systems and power supply elements. System integrators and plant constructors can use this platform to provide tailor-made solutions to meet their customers’ needs for powerful conveying solutions. The heart of the DC platform consists of the new EC5000 RollerDrives, which individually drive the conveying zones of zero-pressure-accumulation conveyors in combination with the corresponding control systems, such as the Modular Conveyor Platform (MCP). The RollerDrive EC5000 is available in a 24-volt version as well as a future-oriented 48-volt version. What’s more, customers can now choose between three power levels—20-watt (W), 35W and 50W— for the motor rollers. The new motor rollers are also suitable for transporting heavy goods, thanks to their 60 mm diameter, and are equipped with both an analogue interface and bus interface.

Conveying solutions now offer data transparency thanks to the bus interface and corresponding control system. This means that users can consistently visualize a range of information and functions using the programmable logic controller (PLC) or a web interface. Examples include the display of information about the current operating state and the operating load of the individual drives and additional detailed information regarding the torque or temperature. This information can be read out and processed. Users can precisely control more than the acceleration, speed and deceleration of the conveyed goods in the system: This solution also allows them to position the relevant goods on the conveyor to the nearest millimetre, a key requirement in order to guarantee seamless conveying interplay with robots or automated gripper arms in an Industry 4.0 environment.

Visitors can find Interroll at Stand K41 in Hall 1 at LogiMAT 2019.

fulfilmentcrowd Opens New Centre of Excellence with Sheffield Fashion Firm

Order fulfilment and ecommerce logistics specialist, fulfilmentcrowd, has announced the opening of its sixth service centre with Sheffield-based Drop Dead Clothing, further strengthening its growing national fulfilment network.

The facility in the Kelham Island district provides a step-change in capability for Chorley-headquartered fulfilmentcrowd, with a range of new services that have been specially designed to incubate and accelerate the growth of online fashion businesses.

An additional 2,500 picking locations and an initial capacity for up to 1,000 parcels daily is underpinned by fulfilmentcrowd’s award-winning software platform and management systems.

This latest addition sees fulfilmentcrowd’s partner network grow to a total 115,000 sq ft footprint, with other centres of excellence spanning the North of England in Grimsby, Warrington and Wigan.

This successful strategy enables the business to capitalise on the continued growth of online retail, with 8,000 new picking locations created to date and capacity to dispatch an additional 6,000 parcels per day.

It also delivers additional revenue streams to retailers with redundant warehouse space, all whilst achieving rapid growth of fulfilmentcrowd’s operations and territorial coverage without the costly investment of additional warehouse space – a mutually beneficial business model of which no other fulfilment provider currently has the technical or practical means to challenge.

Housed within a Grade 2 listed building, the new centre location also includes retail, leisure and flexible working space, making it a unique destination in the city.

Drop Dead Clothing managing director, Carol Sykes, comments: “We are proud to join fulfilmentcrowd and extend use of this amazing building to other entrepreneurial, fast-fashion businesses seeking to locate in a culturally rich and creative city.”

fulfilmentcrowd’s sales & marketing director, Lee Thompson, added: “The addition of Drop Dead Clothing to our network is quite a coup and further proof that our sharing model appeals to partners looking to extract value from latent capacity. The visitor experience at Kelham Island is almost magical and we look forward to welcoming clients there in the near future.”

Iptor Launches Next Generation of Open API Framework Platform

Iptor Supply Chain Systems (Iptor), a leader in supply chain management, planning and logistics software and services, has launched ‘aperio version 2’ – the next evolution of its open integration platform. aperio has the ability to open up any IBMi infrastructure implementation, providing comprehensive cloud integration and a powerful development studio to release the rich functionality of core ERP systems to a connected world.

As well as being available for Iptor distribution and publishing customers, aperio v2 will be accessible to non-Iptor customers using IBM technology stacks and will be available from the end of February.

The open API architecture consists of 3 layers:
• a back end which hosts methods and API lifecycle management
• a middle layer handling connection pooling, security / authentication, logging and connection monitoring
• a front end which hosts HTML 5 rendering.

Enhanced components include a graphical signature, bank ID to support document and transaction signing, web push notifications to subscribe to and clearly display asynchronous messages coming from the back-end application, a form control to compose email messages and a component to manage calendar events.

Nordic technology business, EVRY, recently decided to use aperio for their integration and connectivity roadmap for ERP TRYGG/2000, developing mobile web applications using the aperio mobile development studio.

Christopher Catterfeld, Chief Marketing Officer at Iptor and a speaker at IBM’s Think 2019, said, “Every global business using the IBMi stack should be looking at aperio version 2 as a way of opening up the rich back end functionality of their ERP system. Our market analysis and customer feedback shows there is nothing available close to aperio in terms of flexibility, integration and connectivity. This provides businesses with the opportunity to get even greater value from their ERP systems in a cloud connected world.”
