AutoStore Distributor to Highlight Multi-Function Cobot Gripper

Element Logic, the world’s first AutoStore distributor, will be showcasing its intralogistics solutions at both LogiMAT next month and SITL in April.

At both exhibitions everything revolves around technologies for intralogistics solutions and process management.  The Element Warehouse Control System (EWCS) will show what a well-engineered software tool for AutoStore® integration can do to optimize warehouse performance.

Another highlight on the stand will be a collaborative robotic arm with a multi-function gripper, being fully integrated into the AutoStore system directly via the EWCS. It will pick a large number of articles of various sizes and surfaces from AutoStore bins at the booth. Visitors will be able to see for themselves how the robotic arm continuously improves in the execution of its tasks through the use of machine learning.

“Our solutions are flexible, scalable and future-oriented and thus adapted to the dynamic environment of our customers. Our robot-based and flexible solutions shape the future of intralogistics. This is how we create important efficiency advantages for our customers. We are looking forward to demonstrating this to the trade fair visitors within a personal conversation. Our portfolio includes consulting, system design and implementation as well as lifetime support for our customers,” explained Joachim Kieninger, Managing Director at Element Logic Germany.

“SITL is the first big logistics exhibition we are attending in France since we opened our office in this market in the end of 2019. We are excited and highly motivated to showcase our possibilities with AutoStore and collaborative robotic arm, and to discuss smart solutions with visitors on the stand. It is the densest solution on the market and one of the most attractive in terms of performance and scalability,”, said Isabelle Dubois Bion, Managing Director at Element Logic France.

Hubtex Returns to Compact Forklift Market at LogiMAT

At LogiMAT 2020, multidirectional forklift maker Hubtex will present numerous vehicles for handling long goods as well as heavy and bulky loads. In addition to the expanded PhoeniX modular system, the German manufacturer is presenting its new RoxX heavy-duty compact forklift at Stand D05 in Hall 10. This is a clear sign that Hubtex is returning to the compact forklift market and is now focussing systematically on the electric drive. The RoxX offers a significantly more compact alternative to the classic heavy-duty front loader and enables efficient handling of loads between 8 and 30 t even in confined spaces. LogiMAT will also showcase innovative products from the FluX series: With the FluX 20, Hubtex will now offer not only the 7, 4 and 3 t variants, but also a more compact vehicle for goods up to 2 t.

RoxX – Robust and Compact
Heavy loads in particular are often transported with the help of front loaders. However, when space is limited, these vehicles are soon restricted by their length. The heavy-duty compact forklift from the Hubtex RoxX range offers a robust and manoeuvrable alternative. The development is the result of a cooperation between Hubtex and Dimos. The aim was to reintroduce compact forklifts to the Hubtex portfolio, but this time with a version that runs purely on electric power.

At the Hubtex Stand D05, visitors can take a close look at the new RoxX. The truck enables efficient handling of loads between 8 t and 30 t, even in the smallest of spaces. This is because the RoxX is significantly more compact than classic frontlifts. It is 20% shorter and up to 25% narrower. Users can also choose from different steering systems. The patented single-wheel steering, for example, reduces the turning circle by 50%. The lifting mast is available in three versions and moves loads safely and reliably thanks to the intelligent design. At the same time, the driver always has an optimal view of the goods being transported. An additional advantage of the RoxX is the purely electric drive, which allows extremely energy-efficient, low-maintenance and quiet operation of the heavy-duty compact truck.

FluX 20 – small, narrow and fast-moving
Hubtex will also be providing information at LogiMAT about its new FluX 20 electric multidirectional counterbalance forklift truck. This truck belongs to the already popular FluX series with its flagship product, the FluX 70, which is designed for loads up to 7 t. Operating in a load range of up to 2 t, the FluX 20 boasts a shorter frame length of 1740 mm. It owes its impressive manoeuvrability to the patented HX steering system integrated as standard. The driver is able to change quickly from longitudinal to transverse travel without stopping. The new electric multidirectional counterbalance forklift truck also has a powerful 48-volt drive and reaches top speeds of up to 12 km/h.

Visitors to LogiMAT can find out more at the Hubtex Stand D05 in Hall 10 or at https://messen.hubtex.com.

STILL Celebrates 100th Birthday with More Innovation

With the slogan “A History of the Future” the Hamburg intralogistics company STILL celebrates its 100th birthday this year. On 1st February, 1920, Hans Still opened his repair shop for electric motors – it was to be  the beginning of a century long success story of inventive talent, customer focus and service orientation.

Beginnings to breakthrough
Only a few years after being founded as a repair workshop for electric motors, STILL presented their own products, such as the “Matador light station”, at the Leipzig Fair in 1924. The development and repair of electric motors, generators and transformers remained the core business for many years. After the end of the Second World War STILL introduces an innovative electric truck to the market – the EK 2000 – and thus achieved the breakthrough as a manufacturer of industrial trucks. This was followed by the first forklift truck made by STILL. The introduction of the EGS 1000 electric forklift truck marked the beginning of a new era.

STILL is massively pushing the possibilities of automation solutions and assistance systems in the new millennium. The OptiSpeed truck control concept profitably combines both trends. It ensures the best possible travel speed at all times depending on lift height, direction of travel and load. The result is an increase in handling performance of up to 20 percent. With its efficiency mode, the intelligent Blue-Q autopilot enables a reduction of energy costs by up to 20 percent – without any noticeable loss of performance. The automation project at Kuraray Trosifol wins the coveted International Forklift Truck of the Year Award (IFOY Award) in the category “Intralogistics Solutions” in 2015. With a sophisticated material flow concept, semi-automatic shuttle vehicles communicate with automated reach trucks in a channel storage system for the first time in this project. Only one year later STILL presents the world’s first autonomous order picker iGo neo CX 20 and is the first industrial truck manufacturer to use robotics in intralogistics as standard.

Focusing on customers and service as the key to success
Quality, service and customer orientation were the maxims of the company’s founder Hans Still and continue to be the main pillars of the company today. The introduction of digital service portals such as the STILLReport as a web-based fleet management tool or the web application STILL neXXt fleet, are only two examples of the innovative power in the service sector.

In recent years STILL also continually expanded their range of consulting services. In a time of complex warehouse worlds with networked vehicles, closely interlinked processes and the need for ever more efficient workflows, STILL realised that, more than ever, companies need experts at their side who can provide competent advice, analyse the warehouse processes professionally and then prudently optimise the warehouse infrastructure. This applies all the more to the rapidly increasing trend towards automation.

Innovations that shape the industry
Time and again STILL demonstrates a subtle understanding of their customers’ needs and converts this knowledge into new products: The introduction of the first clear-view mast in the nineteen-seventies, for example, significantly increases the safety of both driver and his surroundings. A further milestone is the introduction of the lateral battery change on the RX 20 and RX 60 electric forklift truck models, which significantly improves the trucks’ efficiency and once again defines the standards that have now become the industry norm.
